Female faces across times and cultures

As long as I can remember I have been struck by the beauty of the natural world – its shapes, colours and scents. But most of all, I am fascinated by the human face.

I find much of my inspiration in exotic cultures and use my sculptures to express my interpretation of the female form through times and cultures.

All that matters in art lies beyond words.’ – Georges Braque

My work

I find much of my inspiration in exotic cultures and use my sculptures to express my interpretation of the female form through times and cultures.

I also like to incorporate symbols and ornamentations with ritual significance in my sculptures.

In 2013 I had the great pleasure to take sculpting classes with GEORGETTE SCHWANTES in Brisbane.

Her expert teachings have given me a thorough understanding of the foundations of the art.

I see sculpting as a personal learning process that lets me discover my own potential and inspiration.

I love to take you along on this journey of my imagining of the female form through ancient times and distant cultures.

You can see my journey in this gallery (texts are in Dutch).
